My story

Born on June 20, 2019, Koda is a stunning male Siberian Husky mix weighing around 82 pounds. Potty trained and trustworthy, Koda doesn't need a crate. He strikes a perfect balance between high energy and being a content couch potato. Koda gets along well with other dogs but enjoys chasing cats a bit too much, so we are looking for a cat-free home for him. Some of his favorite pastimes include watching YouTube videos of dogs and squirrels, playing in the kiddie pool, and enjoying all kinds of toys. Koda does tend to resource guard his food, which his foster parents manage by feeding him separately from other dogs. True to his breed, he can be vocal, but he’s an all-around amazing pup. We are seeking a home with a securely fenced yard, and if there are kids, they should be over the age of 5. Another dog companion in the home would be a bonus! To apply, visit www.mikeyschance.com.

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
