My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.

Blondes have more fun! Marilyn has the energy of a puppy and the house sensibilities of an adult dog. She's got a typical Lab personality: she's goofy and wants to play and give love all day. She loves other dogs! This girl is happiest having some extended playtime with the dogs in her foster house and then having a cuddle. She settles down nicely in her crate when it's time to relax and amuses herself with toys and chews.
She is a bit shy meeting people at first, then warms up. She's been good with the kids she's met, but has no sense of her size and may topple over smaller ones. She's got some weight to lose but we think it'll come off without too much trouble. She's doing well walking on a leash with a harness and generally enjoys being active.
This dog really wants love. She really wants to cuddle and be close, to be involved in everything you're doing. Marilyn is going to thrive when she's found the right person or family to bond with!
Marilyn came into rescue after her owner passed away. She is 1 1/2 years old, so she is still young. She's about 65-70 lbs now but needs to lose a little weight to feel her best.
She is spayed and fully vetted.

More about this rescue

Adopt-A-Stray was founded in Jan. 2010, by Kelley Prichard. Since then, it has grown to include a few wonderful volunteers who work very hard to help ensure that our pets are place in loving, forever homes. We are based in Alexander, AR, but we list all of our available pets in the northeast. We work with several different transporters to get our babies to their new homes in the northeast once they are adopted. The transporter we use most often Pack Leaders (www.plrdogtransport.com). All pets are given age appropriate vaccinations before they leave. Every pet is seen by our vet prior to transport. If you see a pet listed that interests you, please be sure to read the description thoroughly and inquire to the email address listed. Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
