PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.
12/13/24
Marilyn, nicknamed by her foster mom as “Barrelin’ Marilyn” PLEASE SH@RE!!
Marilyn has got a typical Lab personality: she's silly, playful, medium energy, and wants so badly to be loved. Personal boundaries are unacceptable, she wants to be up in your business. She'll nap nearby as you work, chew a hoof and supervise your chores, or perhaps make soulful, prolonged eye contact just to show she loves you. She settles down nicely in her crate when it's time to relax and amuses herself with toys and chews.
Marilyn really wants dog friends! This girl is happiest having some extended playtime with the dogs in her foster house and then having a cuddle. She is always attempting to get the senior dogs in her foster home to play, to mixed results! When she had a playdate with another young, playful dog...do you like Animal Planet?? Because this playdate was Animal Planet. If you don't have a dog buddy for her, you'll have a lot of fun haunting your local dog park.
She is a bit shy meeting people at first, then warms up. Watchdog duty is no joke, she needs to let you know about that mailman! Gardeners, take note: she patrols the yard to scare away squirrels, but never steps in the raised veggie beds.
She's been good with the kids she's met, but has no sense of her size and may topple over smaller ones. Marilyn makes an effort to be very gentle when playing with people, so we've got no issues adopting her to families with older kids!
She's got some pounds to lose but she's already slimmed down, it won't be too hard to get her to a healthier weight. She's doing well walking on a leash with a harness and generally enjoys being active.
This girl LOVES the snow and the rain doesn't phase her at all! She even likes being dried off with a towel afterwards, she thinks it might be a game.
Marilyn really wants love. She really is going to thrive when she's found the right person or family to bond with, can you help heal her heart?
Backstory-Marilyn came into rescue after her owner passed away. She is 1 1/2 years old, so she is still young. She's about 65-70 lbs now but needs to lose a little weight to feel her best.
She is spayed and fully vetted.
She in a foster home in New England.
