My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lighthouse

Our precious boy Lighthouse is an adorable tuxedo looking for a very special family or person to love him and give him his best life ! He and his three siblings tested positive for FELV in October 2024. Lighthouse is a very playful and loving boy who loves to nuzzle and snuggle during his chill time. He has been in foster care since birth and has always been healthy. Lighthouse  must remain as an indoor only kitty and can be adopted individually or in combination with one of his littermates or another FELV kitty.

it is important to know that not all cats react the same way once they get the FELV virus. Some cats may begin showing symptoms nearly immediately after being exposed to the virus. At the same time, other cats exposed to the feline leukemia virus can go months or years without experiencing any symptoms. Interestingly, some cats are able to defeat the virus without any medical attention.

More about this rescue

Whiskers, Tails and Ferals is a network of volunteers and foster families caring for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who have been abandoned, are feral, or are facing the threat of being euthanized at an animal shelter.
All dogs and cats that come into our program are spayed or neutered. Felines are FeLV and possibly FIV, vaccinated, wormed (as needed) and micro-chipped.
All sick animals are immediately put under the care and supervision of a Napa veterinarian and Whiskers, Tails and Ferals pays for their medications.
The cats and kittens that are not able to be tamed, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and returned to their colonies where colony guardians continue to feed and care for them.
