Meet Sophie!

Sophie is a 4-year-old, 89-pound St. Bernard mix who’s as sweet as they come! She’s a big, lanky cuddle bug who absolutely loves attention. Whether she’s lounging outside, gazing out the window, or napping on the couch, Sophie is happiest just being near her people.

She’s a calm girl with the occasional burst of puppy energy - watch out for her adorable zoomies in the yard! Sophie is great in the car, walks beautifully on a leash, and rarely pulls. She’s a bit shy and may be timid with new faces or places, but with a little patience, she quickly warms up.

Sophie would do best with slow introductions to other dogs and with kids who understand her size and her timid nature. Please note, Sophie isn’t a fan of cats.

If you’re looking for a loyal, big-hearted companion to fill your home with love, Sophie might just be the one!

Additional adoption info

You are required to sign a legally binding contact on your new pet. As part of that contract, should you no longer be able to keep the animal for any reason, the animal MUST be surrendered back to SAAP. This is to ensure the animal is placed back in foster care while we secure a new approved home for the animal. However, we always try to ensure that the initial placement is best for the pet and your family. We reserve the right to refuse any adoption.

We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non profit organization. We are dedicated to the rescue of animals that are in need of a forever home. Our animals are fostered in homes where we provide love, food, medical care and socialization until adoption into a new loving home. We educate on the importance of spaying and neutering of all pets.

We ensure all animals have been spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They are micro-chipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm and anti-flea medications (as age appropriate). They are ready and waiting to start their new life with their fur-ever family. Could that be you?

We need your help to continue our mission. We rely solely on donations and fundraisers. All donations are tax-deductible and 100% of your donation will go towards the rescue, care, and medical needs of the animals.
