My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

**If you are interested in being considered for this dog, please be sure to complete an application directly on our website - not through a 3rd party service.*

Welcome Chance to HWMAR!  She is a 6 month old, 32lb, spayed Great Pyrenees Mix who, just like her name says, is looking for her chance at a loving forever home.

Chance was a local girl, who was surrendered due to the owners not being able to care for her properly.  Chance has a facial deformity, but she does not even realize it and is a typical  puppy.   (Approved adopters will speak with a member of our medical team prior to meeting to better understand her condition).

Chance is a good girl with typical big puppy energy. She loves playing with her canine foster siblings.  She would do best in a home with another confident dog, since she has gained so much confidence with her current siblings.  Her foster parents describe her as friendly, energetic, affectionate and a quick learner.  Chance has not been exposed to cats and children should be of the larger, sturdy variety, as Chance is still learning that she cannot jump on people to greet them.

Chance is housebroken and crate trained, although she is not a fan of her crate when the humans leave the house.  She enjoys car rides, and is learning how to properly walk on leash. She currently sleeps and eats in her crate.  Chance also likes to make sure you spend as much time at home as possible, by gently relocating your shoes to a different location, making it impossible for you to leave. She knows that shoes are expensive and not to be destroyed, but who doesn’t enjoy a little game of “Where is my other shoe?”.

Chance’s list of must have for her forever home are as follows:  Love. A 6ft fenced in yard, or electric fence.  True to her breed, she can jump high and escape quickly. Love.  A fur sibling to continue to improve her confidence. Love.  A diet of wet/soft foods while she is still growing.  Love. An experienced adopter who will continue / expand on training with her.  Love.

Chance’s adoption fee is $400 and includes her age appropriate vaccinations and microchip

Go meet their pets

Our rescue is foster based, therefore you will need to make an appointment to visit with any of our animals that are available for adoption.
Most of our adoptable animals come from high kill shelters. Occasionally we are given specific breed information on the animals, but more often, we have to make an educated guess as to breed or mixture based on size, color and physical characteristics.
