Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This mother / daughter duo is looking for a quiet home together. They were surrendered to Familiar Hearts as a bonded pair + we feel it is very important that they stay together forevermore.
Mama Dove is full of love. She is a snuggler but takes a while to gain trust. She is skittish around any sort of movement or loud noises but once she gets to know you, all she wants to do is sit in your lap and get head scratches.
Raven is a bit more timid. She is also skittish around movement and noises. She will hiss at you if you touch her anywhere except her head/neck or shoulders, but she is not aggressive and doesn’t bite/scratch.
Neither of them like to be picked up but Mama Dove likes to be held if you’re sitting and she comes up for scratches.
They will likely take around a month to get used to you and will hide for most of the time in the beginning. But if you can keep them in a small area to start and sit quietly in the room or on the floor with them, and give them treats, they will begin to trust you.
Estimated Age/Birthdays:
Mama Dove: Oct 1, 2015
Raven: Sept 1, 2016
Size:
Mama Dove: 10 pounds
Raven: 11 pounds
Ears:
Mama Dove: clipped straight across
Raven: clipped at an angle
Their Adoption Fee of $225 includes both. Apply to bring these gentle gals into your heart + home at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-process

More about this rescue
Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.
Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.
We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
