Peanut and Pippi, are male and Female (siblings), 8-year-old, gorgeous pair of White-bellied Caiques!
These cuties have been hand-raised, are hand-tame and very sweet with their human mom and dad.
Peanut is very protective of Pippi, and their owners need to rehome because Peanut is aggressive with their other birds. This is causing them to limit the time their birds can spend outside their cages. For this reason, the pair needs to be in a home where they can be the only two birds.
Peanut’s family describes him as easy going and goes with the flow. Peanut loves wood toys, wood blocks, and chewing up corks. He loves to look out the window, and protect his sister.
Pippi, is a bit more timid and even the street noise outside her window sometimes makes her anxious. When anxious, she does some light plucking of her chest feathers.
Both birds are hand-tame and “potty trained”. They prefer to leave their cage to go potty in the morning. If you set them on the edge of the trash can, they will go potty pretty quickly— they prefer not to go potty in their cage.
The pair are not considered too loud, compared with most larger birds, but they are typical Caiques. Their chirps can be shrill and could make it difficult to make a phone call in the same room.
These two, just by nature of their species and being birds, can be destructive and chew wood molding or furniture. Their mom says they’re good, and they mostly just hang out on or near their cage. They are both good flyers, but don't fly often.
Peanut and Pippi are great eaters, and enjoy all sorts of healthy fruits and veggies! They have been disease tested for psittacosis and PBFD>
