My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Harper! She is a 1 year old Anatolian Shepherd who weighs 63 pounds. She is a very high energy dog. She will do best with an active family and in a home with a fenced-in yard. She appears to be crate trained and is quiet in her crate after a few minutes of "getting settled." She is very smart and knows basic commands. She walks reasonably well on a leash, but is VERY curious about her surroundings and loves to take lots of "sniff" breaks. She loves to play fetch, but hasn't figured out how to return the ball yet!

A home with no little children is recommended, as she jumps up frequently when she gets excited. She is not cat tested. She is doing well with the large, male, resident dog and tested well with dogs at the shelter.

If you are interested in adopting Harper, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.

**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
