My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Merida is as spunky and independent as her namesake suggests. Strong, bold and deeply devoted to those she loves. She has the stronger Cattle Dog personality and smarts. Merida will need an active, dog savvy home!

She is 80% potty trained with a dog door. She is crate trained but has only been crated along with her sisters, never alone so that will be an adjustment. She rides well in the car, gets along with people and other dogs she has met. She's not yet met a cat yet so we're not sure but we think she'd be OK with a proper introduction.

This spunky girl is ready to join your family pack. As with most puppies, Merida will greatly benefit from training, which will strengthen the human-puppy bond. Contact Melody at 520-403-4816 to learn more about Merida!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our animals, please fill out an adoption application, located on our web site here: http://tubacityhumanesociety.org/adoptions/ . There is more information about our adoption process, including our adoption fees, on that page. In general, fill out an adoption application, and then photo or scan it to our email at tubacityhumane@gmail.com, and that enables us to start a conversation with you. From there, the foster would usually set up a meet and greet with the animal you are interested in. We like all family members to meet the animal, and any other pets as well. We do require a home check. Adoption fees do not cover our veterinary cost, but do help us to continue our work. All animals are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Most animals are also microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Arrangements can usually be made to meet most of our adoptable animals in Flagstaff. The process starts by filling out an application and returning it to to us through email. Some animals are fostered in Tuba City or other locations. We do attend some adoption events in Flagstaff.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue/foster group located in Tuba City, AZ, on the western Navajo Nation. We do not have a facility. We have two main programs: rescue of homeless animals in need, and a low-cost spay/neuter program for the public. We rely on donations to continue our work.
