My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This precious girl is named Glitter. Glitter is a shiny sweet girl, great with kids and other dogs, and would make a great family dog. To know her is to love her! She’s a bundle of sunshine and love!

Fall in love with Glitter here: https://youtu.be/OORnkWyQKIo?si=5uyp8xXuBtNsKvDo

We think Glitter is a Carolina Dog, Yellow Lab mix of some sort. Glitter is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. We estimate her age to be around 2 years old, and she currently weighs in at a snuggly 33 pounds.

With other dogs, Glitter is a playful, sweet and tolerant lady. Glitter does well with dogs of all sizes, and is small dog friendly! See her interact with a shih-tzu mix in her video. She has an enthusiastic playstyle that always brings the party to the play-yard.

Glitter is always happy to see you. She’s a people’s dog, friendly with everyone she meets, and very loving. Glitter lives for couch snuggles, gentle kisses and bear hugs. She’s been great with every kid she’s met too, and we think she would make a wonderful family dog. See her interact with a 13 year old in her video. She loves toys, especially stuffies, and she loves to play chase in the yard.

She has wonderful house manners, and hasn’t had any indoor accidents here at the rescue! She’s sooo snuggly and lovey, a perfect companion.

Glitter would love to be a family dog to a semi-active family, or a companion dog. She’s on the more energetic side, but not overly so, daily walks or backyard play sessions will be key to keeping her happy and healthy. This sweet sunshiney girl is ready for her forever home, and knowing her it will be live at first sight when she meets her family! She could do well in a multi-dog home, but could also thrive as a solo dog, soaking up all of your affection.

With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Glitter with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Please email Jessicak@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
