My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you a Rottie lover looking for easy company for leisurely walks around the neighborhood? Here is your girl! Paisley is sweet and gentle, she is never going to rush you, take your time, she will be there. On leash, she’s a dream, super easy to walk with hardly any need for corrections. When not on a walk she will be happy to putz around with you in the yard or around the house, she may fall asleep on the job but after her little nap she will be ready to take her role as your bestie back on. She is a loyal, affectionate girl with an independent confidence, such a good combination.

Take a look at her in action then come back to read more https://youtu.be/-jV8aPSD978

Paisley is estimated to be right around 3 years old and weighs 71 lbs though we expect her to gain a few lbs, settling in right around 75 lbs. We cannot say with certainty given she is a rescue but Paisley displays so many classic Rottweiler qualities. Great with littles, independent and easy-going, friendly with other dogs and all around a polite girl. When introduced to new dogs, her on-leash greeting was calm and friendly. Off leash with new dogs she preferred to greet them and then go about her business smelling around and checking in with the people in the yard. She wasn’t playful during our time with her but she was respectful and handled a very dominant dog very gracefully, completely avoided any conflict.

I’ll give you a tip to get her eyes to sparkle in no time flat…treats! She is very treat motivated! Don’t worry though, she doesn’t turn into a chompy chomp, she is a lady afterall, and takes treats nicely with a soft mouth. Even with other dogs around she was happy taking treats and allowing them to take treats with no signs of pushiness or food guarding. She has such sweet manners!

Another gold-star for Paisley, from everything we have seen she is cat tolerant! It is possible that a very busy and active cat would peek her interest but with our older, dog-savvy cat she was respectful and cautious. Paisley doesn’t need a doggie friend to be happy and fulfilled but would be happy to join a fellow putz around pal. She would love a home or townhouse with a yard to stretch her legs and smell around. She gets so much contentment ambling around just seeing about things, just a little stroll around the yard will make her happy.

This lovely girl isn’t your social butterfly with strangers, where are my introverts? Seriously though, if you enjoy walking the dog that a isn’t forcing you into random conversations with strangers, Paisley absolutely understands and supports that. She’s fantastic on walks and will be a wonderful companion for a Rottie lover with an easy presence who isn’t going to pull you toward strangers while on walks. Ahh, friendly without extroversion is a personal favorite type of dog.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
