Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Koda! He is a 3 year old Husky who we was saved from the E-List at nearly the last minute. Koda found himself short on time at MCACC for showing high levels of stress in the shelter environment, simply because he did not like it in there. During our evaluation of him, he was super excited to meet everyone, and ready to play. He had quite a bit of energy, but we had a feeling that once he settled into his foster home he would show us that he was the happiest and friendliest boy!
Koda is an absolute lover with people and is all about getting as much affection as he can. He's is a typical headstrong husky boy, but he fortunately responds very well to a verbal correction or redirection when needed. We know he will only improve in time since he very likely never had anyone to work with him before this. He currently lives with other large dogs, and loves to play. Some of his favorite ways to pass the time are squeaky toys, a game of tug-o-war, or a good snuggle. Koda appreciates a spot that he can call his own, and likes to go in his crate, as long as the door stays open. He likes to go for walks and isn’t afraid to show you how much he is enjoying his walk by pulling you to your next destination. Given his love of snacks, we believe Koda’s leash manners can also be improved with some dedicated training.
Koda would do great in a variety of homes that will offer him the energy outlets he needs. His fosters listed him as medium-energy for a husky, so he still has quite a bit of excitement and play, but may not be the absolute most crazy one you've met. He has shown some resource guarding behavior with the other dogs, but nothing to the level of fights. He would do best with more mellow pups who will let him take the lead. When originally meeting Koda, we learned that he cannot be around chickens. This isn't unexpected in the breed. He has not lived in a home with cats before, but he did meet cats previously through a barrier and sniffed without reacting. He would need a more in-depth kitty intro if we were to consider placing him in a home with cats. Because of Koda’s higher energy, we would also suggest older children in the home. If you would like one of the happiest boys to welcome you home every day, Koda cannot wait to meet you!

Additional adoption info
We ensure that our huskies only go to families on a property with a 6ft secure fence, and remain the guardian of the animal for life - if there is ever need for a family to rehome their husky again due to health or any other major concern, we are always willing to take the dog back and find them a new home.

We do not have a physical shelter location just yet, and operate solely out of foster homes. We are planning to begin participating in adoption events in the near future - these will be listed on our website once available!
