What do you get when you put a pittie head on a Bassett hound body? You get Connor! You get a love bug who wants nothing more than to be a good boy and make his human happy. He still has plenty of puppy energy and will need gentle guidance but seems smart and is very affection-motivated so should be easily trained. He even makes a kind of purring noise when getting scratches. I got to spend a weekend with Connor. He was fearful at first going into a new place, but perked up as soon as he saw another dog was there. He needs to be kept occupied by chew toys, play, or affection, but was also happy crashed out on the couch with a human. (He seemed to enjoy watching baseball. Fell asleep during football.) Connor is a sweet, sweet boy. He wanted to play with my dog, but when my grumpy 13-year-old girl didn’t want to play, he backed off. If he’s living with another dog, they should probably be able to match his play energy, or be confident and calm enough to not be affected by it. I can’t say for sure how he is with kids, but kids who are big enough to safely play with him would likely be a great part of his world.
