Miss Suze is a feisty girl who’s also a softy at heart. She brushes up against her humans' legs when they come home, and boldly climbs into their laps to demand attention. She has gorgeous, silky soft fur. When she trusts you, and is feeling extra affectionate, she stands on her hind legs, wraps her front paws around your neck as if giving you a hug, and nuzzles into your face and hair; it’s the best feeling!
This girl is a little gymnast. She is a great jumper, and often seems to practically levitate onto counters. She also insists on playing with human items, even though she has plenty of cat toys. She derives great pleasure from knocking little objects off of surfaces (rings, pens, etc.). She is an equal opportunity troublemaker! Make sure your cords and hair elastics are secured, or else she will find them and bat them around. And you may just find a pile of little items you think you lost next time you clean under the couch or bed. She is a little firecracker who will keep you on your toes!
Suze was found as a stray, so she may have built up a tough exterior as a stray, but she’s learning to trust again. Currently, attention needs to be given on her terms; if you approach her and try to touch when she hasn’t invited you, she will swat at you and give you a warning bite. And even if she’s purring away in your lap, if you pet her in a way that she doesn’t like, or she gets overstimulated, she will not hesitate to snap at you. Her forever family will need to learn how to read her cues so that Suze feels safe and respected. That said, when she first came to her foster home, she was on guard and cautious, but once she learned that she was in a safe environment and warmed up to her foster parents, she started showing what a darling she really is!
Suze was fostered with another cat, and she was not a fan of this arrangement, so she would do best as the only cat in her forever home. She has not encountered kids or dogs, but given that she’s very insistent on her boundaries and will bite when they’re crossed, she would probably only be okay being in a home with kids who are older, and dogs who are lower energy and would mostly leave her alone.
Suze is a silly cat who will keep you entertained, but at the end of the day, when she snuggles into a cozy spot to rest from all of her gremlin activities, she is just the sweetest little thing! While she might start off a little spicy in a stressful situation, please be patient to earn her trust, because once she bonds with you, she is so affectionate, and it feels extra special knowing that you have earned it!

Additional adoption info
Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).
This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!
Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
