My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet girl is affectionate and loves to be around people. She keeps a clean kennel and has not been destructive. She plays gently with her toys and enjoys a soft blanket. She has been doing well with other dogs at the shelter. She loves car rides and going on walks. She would be your perfect new best friend and would dazzle your family and friends with her amazing smile.
She will be available after her spay on Nov.11th. If you have any questions, please call us at 574-896-5060 and speak with any of our friendly staff. If you would like to adopt, ask our staff about our smooth adoption process.

More about this shelter

The Starke County Humane Society is a very small, privately funded, non-profit 501(C)(3) organization that depends on the generous donations of animal lovers to continue operating. We do not receive any county funding. We strive to *Provide assistance, shelter, and humane care for all lost, abused, neglected or unwanted animals *Reunite lost pets with their families *Place homeless animals with responsible guardians through various adoption programs *Foster the humane treatment of all animals with education concerning population control, animal abuse, and ownership responsibilities *Promote SPAY/NEUTER as the BEST way to reduce the population of unwanted pets. Our hope is that one day SOON all people will realize that ALL of their PETS MUST BE SPAYED or NEUTERED, so that there will be enough loving, responsible guardians for every healthy, nonaggressive animal. This will eliminate euthanasia as a form of population control.
