Indy is an adorable six month old male chihuahua/rat terrier mix ready to find his forever home. Indy was born in April and is currently twelve pounds. He’s a happy little pup with a very long tail!
Indy has got it all. He’s handsome, playful, and smart! Indy loves to cuddle and snuggle with his humans but also loves his playtime. He gets along well with other dogs and with children. He has not been tested around cats but his foster mom thinks he’d probably do okay with them as well. He may bark at strangers at first, but no one stays a stranger with Indy for long- he’ll be giving them love in minutes! He is in a destructive phase with his toys and is quickly and easily redirected back to his toys if he tries to play with something that’s off-limits. Indy is not aggressive.
Indy travels well. Despite his age, he has done very well with potty training and very rarely has accidents in his foster home. His foster mom says Indy is basically the perfect dog other than the occasional snoring or farting!
Indy has been vetted and has all of his age-appropriate vaccinations. He is neutered and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention.
Indy’s adoption donation is $350.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so midwest dogs can only be adopted in OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.

CRT does not warehouse dogs in a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy, safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped, on heartworm preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!
CRT is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, public charity. We have no paid employees. We are dedicated to rescue, adoption and the medical care of stray and homeless Chihuahuas in need, and to help control the growing overpopulation through spaying and neutering all dogs in our care.
