My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So dang pugly cute!!

Hi there! I’m Patty, a super sweet 10-month-old pug mix looking for my forever home! Weighing in at just 19 lbs, I’m the perfect size for snuggles and adventures. I’m spayed, leash trained, and crate trained—though I’m still working on my potty skills. I was rescued from Ensenada, Mexico, and since then, I’ve been living my best life!

I’m full of energy and love to play, especially with toys and chews (Nylabones are my fave!). I’m friendly with both kids and other pups, making me the ideal addition to a lively family. I have energy galore and I love being a part of fun activities. I am quite ok being alone too. Once you’re gone, I’m totally fine in my crate.

I thrive on walks, meeting new people, and, of course, chasing after toys! If you’re looking for a playful companion who will bring joy to your home, I’m your girl. I am still a young one, and an energetic one at that, so an active home is ideal. Let’s make some happy memories together!

My adoption fee is $450 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

More about this rescue

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.
