Kingston, a 4 year old bully mix, loyal, and sweet dog, found himself in a magical adventure. One sunny afternoon, he chased a glowing butterfly and was whisked away to a mystical land filled with animals. He played and laughed with his new friends, but he missed his home. A wise old owl, seeing his longing, gave him a magical feather. Kingston woke up in the shelter, the feather still clutched in his paw. Friendly, funny, playful, energetic, gentle, smart, and cuddly, Kingston now awaits a family who will love his adventurous spirit and his big, warm heart.

HSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.
Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!
Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high. Weekends are busy and you may have to wait more than an hour (especially in the afternoons) so please be prepared.
