Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
He is good with dogs with a slow introduction and doesn't have much experience with cats so please exercise patience and slow introductions if you have any. Brody would do best in a household with older children or no children at all. He is very active and can sometimes jump, doesn't know his size very well.
Loves to bark at the squirrels and tries to climb the trees in my back yard to get to them. He is crate trained and goes into the crate to be fed. Brody is a super smart boy and knows several tricks. He loves to butt me with his head, when he wants attention and will demand that I rub his head. He doesn't like needles, so when he has to be poked, be careful. He has really soulful eyes and is vocal. Will serenade you with his singing.
Here are the commands Brody knows:
Sit
Talk to me - means he will a brief little bark.
Lay
Up - to get on a higher surface
Down - to lower surface
Wait
Go
Find it - let him smell a treat then hide treats.
Fetch
Paw - hold your hand out palm up and he puts paw in hand or chest high for hi five.
Open - means you point to the automatic door button and he pushes it to open.
Heel - on the left side point to where you want him to be
Home - when out walking I can say take me home and he does only if he can smell and sniff everything. He doesn't take you home the way we came but we go his way.
Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Additional adoption info
Adoption application required.
Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.

We are a TEXAS based rescue who transport regularly to this area. Our dogs are in TEXAS and will be transported to you if you adopt from us.
Our pets are posted on our website, and most live in homes with their fosters. We live with our foster dogs to get to know them in a home setting and to let them know that life can be good away from the streets.
We work to correct poor behaviors, teach manners and observe each dogs particular quirks and personalities so we can give accurate observations of the dogs you are interested in.
We know that dogs will sometimes behave differently with different people but we can give you our impressions of our pups and situations they have been in.
