My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Mona. My days are filled with wagging tails and friendly faces, but I'm looking for a forever friend. I'm a mellow soul, content with a quiet corner to snooze in. I'm as sweet as a ripe peach, always ready to share my love with those around me. You'll find me to be friendly, never passing up a chance to meet someone new. Loyalty is my middle name, and I promise to be by your side through thick and thin. Cuddling? It's my favorite pastime. I'm the perfect companion for those who appreciate the simpler things in life. Adopt me, and I promise to fill your life with unconditional love and loyalty.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
