My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**THIS DOG IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT THE SHELTER.* If you see an animal you're interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet
Lenny is a high energy young schnauzer mix looking for a new home. He does have a lot to say so apartment style living will not be the best for him. Lenny will need a home with plenty of daily activities and mental stimulation. Since he came to us as a stray we are not sure how he will do with other animals or children slow careful introductions will be needed. He currently weighs 16 pounds.

Wandering Rover Report:
Please briefly list the activities you enjoyed with your dog: Lenny was a super fun energetic little man! We had a great time walking around the marina, sitting and watching the birds, playing in the leaves at the park, chewing on a stick and even getting a pup cup!
Was there anything your dog didn't seem to enjoy? Lenny was the perfect little man and seemed happy to do whatever we were doing!
Please tell us anything else you'd like to about your dog and your day out! Lenny does great in the car. He loves to be held and snuggled. He is high energy but very smart he sits for treats if you remind him not to jump. He was curious about other dogs and seems to love squeaky toys.

ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.

How does this work?

First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.

Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.

Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.

Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.

Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.

CATS
- Adult cats (over 6 months): $50
- Kittens (6 months and under): $125
- Two kittens adopted at the same time: $200

DOGS
- Adult dogs (over 6 months): $150
- Puppies (6 months and under): $350

SMALL ANIMALS & BIRDS
- Adoption fees vary based on species
