My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet George: The Cuddliest Couch Potato (Who Also Happens to Be a World-Class Guard Dog)

Tired of your boring old couch? Want a snuggle buddy who doubles as a home security system? Then look no further than George, the most lovable goofball you'll ever meet!

George's Amazing Qualities:

  • House-trained and crate-trained: This guy knows how to keep things clean and organized.

  • Sit, stay, and stroll: George is a well-mannered gentleman on a leash.

  • Doggy diplomat: With proper introductions, George loves to play with other dogs.

  • Kids' best friend: George is a gentle giant who adores cuddling with children.

  • Couch potato extraordinaire: George is a master of relaxation and loves nothing more than snuggling with his people on the couch or bed.

  • Curious George: This inquisitive pup wants to be involved in everything you do.

  • Loyal companion: George is always by your side, keeping a watchful eye on his beloved humans.

  • Food motivated: Treats are the way to George's heart, making training a breeze.

George's Quirks (We All Have Them):

  • Anxiety barker: George is a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to new things. But hey, who can blame him? The world is a big, scary place!

  • Leash/barrier reactivity: George is still working on his social skills when it comes to meeting new dogs on a leash. But with a little patience and training, he'll be a pro in no time!

  • Big dog bark: George may look intimidating with his booming bark, but he's a softie at heart.

George's Ideal Home:

George is looking for a confident owner who can help him overcome his anxieties and continue his training. He would thrive in a calm, quiet home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore. While George loves kids, he would do best in a home with older children who understand his quirks.

Why George is the Perfect Addition to Your Family:

George is a lovable goofball with a heart of gold. He's a loyal companion, a cuddly couch potato, and a surprisingly effective home security system. With a little patience and understanding, George will blossom into the perfect dog for the right family.

Don't miss out on the chance to adopt this amazing pup! Contact us today to schedule a meet-and-greet with George.

Happy Feet Pet Rescue, located in Lansing, MI, operates as a foster-based rescue, providing our animals with home environments for their well-being. We are dedicated to carefully matching each rescue animal with the most suitable homes. Our adoption process includes an initial adoption phone interview, reference checks, vet checks, a thorough application review, and opportunities for meet and greets.

Please note that we have a policy of not adopting dogs expected to exceed 50lbs to individuals living in apartment or condo settings. We are firmly against declawing cats and only endorse adopting our feline friends as indoor cats.

If you're interested in meeting one of our wonderful pets, we kindly ask you to complete an adoption application. Alternatively, you can explore the rewarding experience of becoming a dog or cat foster parent. This provides an excellent opportunity to interact with various personalities and animals before committing to a long-term relationship.
