My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Forgotten to Forever: Gecko’s Journey

For months, Gecko and his two siblings lived in the shadows  at a concrete plant, hiding from the world. No soft bed, no belly rubs—just cold, hard ground and the sound of machinery. When a kind stranger finally spotted them, animal control stepped in, offering a lifeline. But Gecko’s struggles weren’t over.

In the crowded shelter, Gecko was overlooked again and again, sitting quietly in the corner, too shy to grab anyone’s attention. His gentle heart longed for love, but it seemed no one noticed.

Then everything changed A loving foster gave Gecko a chance to shine—and he did!

Meet Gecko
This quietly shy old soul has come so far. He is currently fostered in a home with other dogs and children & he is doing really good! His go to to move is to sit in the corner and quietly watch what’s going on, taking things in one moment at a time.

He is sweet and soulful and oh so adorable. We love watching this boy blossom each and every day he comes out of his shell a little bit more.

Fostered locally in Beverly, MA
About 1 year old // 42 lbs
fostered with dog loving kiddos
LOVES other dogs
Cat tested!
Crate-trained & potty-trained in foster
Submissive and affectionate at his pace

Gecko has so much love to give and just needs a family to share it with. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving best friend, Gecko is your guy!

Adopt Gecko and help him write the happiest chapter of his story.

More about this rescue

The Gals Best Pal Rescue Mission is to be a voice for the voiceless as it advocates for the dogs in its care while finding them safe, suitable, caring homes. The organization works with likeminded partners across the country and throughout the state of Massachusetts to rescue unwanted animals experiencing neglect, abuse, homelessness or at risk of euthanasia. The rescue also strives to make a difference for many unwanted dogs from different unfortunate situations. It does this by providing nurturing foster homes, promoting the importance of responsible dog ownership and, most importantly, spaying and neutering every dog that comes through the rescue as it aims to cut back on the overpopulation crisis occurring in many shelters and rescues across the nation.
