My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kaya!

Kaya is a sweet and affectionate 3-year-old pup, weighing 47 pounds—a perfect “pocket pittie” size! Once she feels comfortable, Kaya’s favorite place is right next to you, cuddling on the couch with her head resting on you. After a fun day of being the best girl, she’ll even curl up as the little spoon while you watch TV.

Kaya is great on walks and only pulls lightly when she’s excited. With a little redirection and familiarity with her routine, she becomes calm and focused, often checking in with a sweet glance to make sure she’s doing well. She’ll even stop to sit and enjoy the view with you.

Toys are one of Kaya’s favorite things! She loves tough plushies and rope toys, often playing independently but appreciating the occasional toss to keep the fun going. While she can be a bit mouthy during playtime, she’s incredibly gentle and learning to break the habit quickly.

This smart girl is treat- and praise-motivated and already knows commands like “sit,” “paw,” and “stay.” Kaya’s energy is balanced—she enjoys bursts of zoomies followed by snuggly naps. She even thinks she’s a lap dog and loves keeping you warm with her affectionate cuddles.

Kaya is crate- and potty-trained, easily settling in her crate and sleeping soundly through the night. She’s also thriving in an apartment with regular walks and playtime. She meets new people with curiosity and, after warming up, loves to give hugs.

Kaya has done well with other dogs in a shelter’s gentle playgroup and seems friendly and eager to meet other pups. She’s still figuring out cats but is making great progress with slow introductions and training—she’s smart and learns quickly!

Bath time isn’t her favorite, but Kaya is cooperative and appreciates a quick scrub. She’s soft, silky, and adores pets, making her impossible to resist. Kaya shows no signs of resource guarding and is ready to share her love and toys with her future family.

If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and cuddly companion, Kaya is the perfect match. She can’t wait to meet you and bring warmth and joy to your home!
