My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ace is a lovable, playful pup who thrives on affection and adores being picked up and held-he's a total baby at heart! His friendly personality shines with everyone he meets, whether they're familiar faces or newcomers visiting the home. Ace knows several cues, including sit, lay down, give paw, and go to bed, making him a well-behaved companion who listens well. He has been exposed to children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, and loves being around them, always eager to join in the fun and share his playful energy.

In addition to being great with kids, Ace is a social butterfly with dogs of all breeds and sizes. He's very playful and enjoys running around, making him an ideal match for an active household. Ace is partial to hard toys, as his enthusiasm for play means soft toys don't last long! Whether it's greeting guests with excitement or chasing toys across the yard, Ace brings joy and energy wherever he goes. With his friendly nature and love for attention, he's ready to be the perfect addition to a family looking for a fun, affectionate, and active companion.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
