Lamar is the sweetest boy, and everyone who meets him falls in love with his gentle and affectionate nature. His foster describes him as incredibly easygoing, well-adjusted, and full of love. He enjoys cuddling, going on walks, and playing with toys, making him a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loyal and affectionate pup. Lamar is well-mannered—he doesn’t beg for food or whine—and he’s always happy just being close to his people. He has done great meeting older children on outings, showing his friendly and adaptable personality. With his calm demeanor and loving heart, he will easily fit into a new home and is ready to share his love with a family of his own.
While Lamar has been in playgroups with other dogs, he is selective about his playmates and doesn’t seem to truly enjoy group interactions. He prefers to coexist rather than actively seek out canine companionship, making him an excellent fit for a home where he can be the center of attention. If introduced slowly and carefully, he could potentially live with another dog, but he doesn’t need a furry friend to be happy. What Lamar loves most is human companionship, and he would be perfectly content soaking up all the affection for himself. With his sweet, gentle nature and easygoing personality, Lamar is ready to find a forever home where he can be loved as much as he loves in return.

More about this shelter
The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.
To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.
There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.
We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
