My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Get ready to fall in love! Maximus is a 2 month old, 13 pound Lab Mix puppy who is looking for his forever family.

If Maximus's beautiful green eyes don't win you over, his personality will. Maximus loves affection and being pet, and who wouldn't want to cuddle with a puppy that feels like an actual teddy bear? He absolutely adores the children in his foster home and would make a great addition to a family with kids!

For his young age, Maximus is making big strides in potty training. He keeps his crate clean and has been going outside for regular potty breaks. With a constant schedule he should master this skill in no time! Maximus does miss his people when he is in his crate and will whine for a short time before settling in quietly. And YES, he has been sleeping quietly through the night!

Maximus loves to spend his time playing with his brother (who he is being fostered with), his human foster siblings, and playing with squeaky toys and balls. He enjoys having something to chew on to help with his teething and is easily redirected to a Nyla bone or bully stick. He is a medium energy pup that likes to play as much as he likes to nap. This little guy has a big appetite so treats go a long way in training!

Maximus is waiting for a loving home to call his own! Don't let this special pup pass you by!

Maximus is being fostered in Staten Island, NY, and his adoption fee is $500.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
