My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

That sweet face belongs to none other than Karly! An absolute dream dog, Karly could fit into just about any household. She’s goofy, sweet and the perfect balance of mellow and playful. She would make an amazing family dog, to a great companion dog! She would love to live in a social home- she’s so friendly and adores new friends! She’s big and small dog friendly and cat tolerant.

Meet Karly here: https://youtu.be/EgGNYx3YL_I?si=-DvuJhyuxf8joXSS

We think that Karly is a Staffordshire Terrier mix of some sort, around one and a half years old. She is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. She’s a total lovebug, and at 78 pounds, she cannot be convinced that she isn’t a lapdog! She’s a hugger, a snuggler, a kisser, so affectionate and sweet.

Karly is absolutely adored by her foster family. She’s a dream in the home, with great house manners. Her foster mom reports that she’s fully potty trained, great in her kennel and easy on leash. “She usually sleeps in a dog bed or in her crate with door open. I crate her when I leave the house and she goes in with ease, doesn't whine or bark and is sitting there quietly when I get home.” She lives in a home that’s full of other animals, big and small dogs and kitties, and she gets along well with all of them. Karly is cat-tolerant, and to double check, she has been cat tested by our behavior team! See her interact with a kitty in her video.

With other dogs, Karly is a perfectly playful, sweet and tolerant lady. She’s wonderful at meeting other dogs on their level, and making new friends. She became fast friends with a puppy here at the rescue, and they played until they both grew tired.

With humans, Karly is an absolute lover! She’s so friendly with everyone that she meets. She’s a social butterfly to her core, and would do wonderfully as your “adventure dog” tagging along to restaurants, events and parks. Karly has met kids as young as 6 and she’s done well with all of them. We can confidently say that she’s kid friendly- her personality is so well suited for family dog life.

Karly’s foster family describes her as “medium energy.” Daily walks or some backyard playtime will keep this beautiful girl happy and healthy. She could live in a multi-pet household, but she could also do well as a solo-dog, soaking up all of your love for herself. Karly is such a special girl, an absolute dream dog ready for her forever home.

With any questions, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, whose email is linked below. We are willing to test Karly with anything you need us to in order to ensure she’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
