My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

JASMINE
Snuggly and sweet
I'll drop a ball at your feet!
Smart with a soft belly
I'll turn your heart to jelly.
If you are looking for the perfect mix of playful and calm, look no further!

Hello, Humans. My name is Jasmine and I am a 3-ish year old mystery mix (maybe Pomeranian and Aussie) looking for a pack to call my own. Weighing in at 21- pounds, I am a delight! My greatest joys in life are convincing humans to scratch my belly or throw a ball (or squeaky toy) for me.

I am house trained and kennel trained, and I do pretty well on a leash. I am slightly shy, but the more I learn and experience, the more I come out of my shell. I am quick to warm up to new people and I give everyone I meet the chance to give and receive lots of love. I had a rough start, which is how I ended up in foster care, but I'm learning new tricks and useful skills everyday. I am super chill in the house, and I don't get into things or chew. I live with two cats, but sometimes I think about chasing them, so maybe I should avoid houses with cats. I haven't been around children, but I am shy, so I think I'd prefer children with good manners who won't scare or mistreat me.

I am an absolute gem. If you are looking for a walking buddy who will also hang on the couch and watch movies, I'm your girl. If you want a pup who will play with other dogs but not be jumping all over furniture and people, I will make your dream come true.

Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
