My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Platypus is a chocolate lab mix that was found by the warden. She is still a pup at heart. This girl loves to be with people and other dogs. She needs a small bit of manners training, like jumping up but wants to please so bad. Like all labs she is goofy and friendly, and should be ok with cats.**Please fill out an application found on our website under "adopt a pet" and send it in to start adoption process.**

All Dog Adoption Fee's are $175 Cats are $100
Includes initial Vaccinations, De-Worming, Flea Meds, Heartworm Testing, & Spay/Neuter

More about this shelter

Van Wert is a small rural community. The Van Wert County Humane Society has seen hard times in the past but since the Humane Society is under a new board, things have changed for the better and we work hard to care for and adopt the animals at the shelter. We have a small base of volunteers that will come and spend time with the animals at the shelter. We take donations of any sort, and the Humane Society is 501c3.
