Georgie Porgie is as laid-back as they come. He’s a calm, quiet guy who keeps to himself, especially when first settling in. After being found wandering a Texas neighborhood after a hurricane, Georgie Porgie was morbidly obese and struggling to walk. But with time, he’s shed some pounds, gained mobility, and now enjoys strolls around the neighborhood. He’s still a bit shy and will scurry around people and animals at first, but once he’s comfortable, he’s perfectly content to lounge around the house or sunbathe in the yard.
Food is his biggest motivator—he perks up at the sound of the refrigerator door or a can opening, and while he doesn’t steal food, he’s definitely the kind of dog who will stick close to kids when they’re eating. Georgie is kennel-trained, keeps his crate clean, and goes outside to potty, though he marked when he first arrived and may need a belly band at first. He’s never barked while at his foster’s house, but he does get excited and whimpers when you’re about to let him out of his crate.
Though Georgie may seem a bit skittish in the beginning, his love for food and treats makes it easy to win him over. He’s an easygoing, low-maintenance companion who’s happy just lounging around and soaking up the sun. All he needs is a little patience and love, and he’ll settle right in.
Georgie Porgie is from Texas.
