My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Prunella, or Prune for short! This sweet and stoic mama had a rough start in life but you would never know it by her sweet and gentle nature! She was initially found scared and malnourished on someone's front porch... she had decided to hide there in order to protect her two newborn kittens from the outside elements and predators. Prunella has been a most excellent mama to her babies Fig and Apricot, and now this sweet girl deserves a loving family of her own.

Since Prunella and her babies have been rescued, she has settled into the good life quite nicely. She LOVES getting cat treats, getting brushed, chin scratches and rubs all over! She is a purr machine and will show her appreciation by purring loudly and bumping her head into you for more affection, as well as rubbing against your legs when you enter the room. Prune is always chirping at her foster mom when she brings her breakfast of fancy feast in the mornings - salmon seems to be her favorite!

Prunella has really blossomed over time in her foster home; she has started to play (her favs are the cat wand toys, anything with catnip, and the rolling spiral toys), she ventures out of her foster bedroom to explore the house, and she does very well around her foster family's two young (cat-savvy) kiddos. We believe that Prunella will continue to come into her own in her new home as she continues to experience the finer things in life, she is such a sweetie! Prunella has not met a dog while in foster but seems to get along with other cats just fine. She does not like getting picked up, but she will tolerate it if she trusts you!

Prunella is estimated to be between 1-2 years old. She is spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She does have one slightly oddly shaped eyeball which has been checked by an ophthalmologist and neurologist and deemed a non-issue. Need a purring companion in your life? Consider adopting Prunella today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
