Age: Approximately 3 years old
Weight: 17 lbs
Dog friendly: YES
Cat friendly: Unknown
Kid friendly: Likely but doesn't live with any
Potty trained: Very close! Uses the doggie door.
Crate trained: Working on it!
**Physically fenced yard and another dog in the home required**
Zola is a 3 year old, 17lbs lemon beagle that was found dumped with another 8 beagles in a forest in Missouri. She's been a proud Minnesotan for about a week!
Here is what we've learned about her so far:
Though she was estimated to be 3 years old by the vet, she acts much younger. Everything is new to her- and she's learning and gaining confidence in this brand new world. She is extremely playful, silly, cuddly, and happy. She's very outgoing and friendly with people and other dogs. She has a signature beagle bay!
She learns very quickly and is highly food motivated. So far, she can hand target with "Touch", go in her crate on cue, sit on cue, and lay down. We are working on "go to your mat" and "shake." We've done two walks so far. Walks with any beagles are a sniffari, and she needs time to sniff and take it all in. She did well cueing into her person on walks and did well not pulling.
What we are working on (all of these things are likely part of the early adjustment period):
She's doing well with potty training, and lets herself out through the doggie door, but she has had a few pee accidents inside, which is totally expected with learning the rules at a new place.
She has a little FOMO in her crate right now.
She is learning basic house manners :)
If you know and love the beagle breed, you will absolutely love her. Lemons are extra special beagles full of emotion and sass, and she is an outstanding love of a dog. We consider ourselves very lucky to be her foster parents because she has been an absolute joy!
Adoption Fee: $495

**Note on breed and age determination:
Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
â~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile
~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax added:
