Meet Duke (or as we lovingly call him, Dukie): The Velcro Pup Extraordinaire!
Are you looking for a loyal companion who will stick to you like peanut butter on toast? Look no further! Duke is your guy. At just 5 months old, this large, affectionate pup is always by your side, ready to cuddle, follow you from room to room, and be the ultimate shadow. He's smart, is already picking up basic commands, and is crate trained, which means you'll get a full night's sleep without worrying about him taking over the bed-though he wouldn't mind snuggling in, if you're up for it!
Duke's a gentle giant in the making, but he's still learning a few new manners-like resisting the temptation to peek at what's on the kitchen counter (yes, he's already tall enough to see the goodies!) and curbing his excitement when you walk through the door (those welcome-home jump ups are from pure joy!). On the leash, he's a model citizen, politely watching squirrels and bunnies without making any attempts to join their games.
When it's playtime, Duke transforms into the "King of the Couch with his foster siblings. He loves them all-big, small, and even the ones who aren't as enthusiastic about his love. Duke's heart is as big as his paws, and his joy for life is infectious. He's doing great with potty training (and working on mastering the doggie door), but hey, sometimes a good play session makes him forget he's not outside. Oops!
Duke is ready to be your faithful companion, loyal friend, and the snuggle buddy of your dreams. Adopt Duke, and you'll always have a furry friend who's happiest when he's with his "hooman.
Duke is a 5-month-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $400 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Duke is also tested with other dogs, children, kennel trained, and housebroken. He is not tested with cats. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home.
The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.
We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)
Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.
Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
