Meet Poppy, a beautiful 7-month-old Pittie mix with a striking look and a heart-shaped splotch on her belly! This smart girl is already mastering a list of commands, including sit, down, focus, off, leave it, come, stay, and wait. Poppy quickly learned how to ring bells on the back door when she needs to go outside—picking it up after just two demonstrations! Full of puppy energy, Poppy loves playing with her toys, chasing after her humans, and even watching DogTV on YouTube.

Poppy is extremely food-motivated and has proven to be an expert at counter-surfing. She’s crate-trained and mostly housebroken, making her well on her way to being the perfect companion. Weighing 35 pounds, Poppy would thrive with an active family who can keep up with her energetic spirit. Regular physical activity like long walks, hikes, or runs, along with continued training, will help keep both her mind and body engaged.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
