This big-hearted goofball is as sweet as they come! Eugene adores everyone he meets, but his absolute favorite is his 6-year-old foster sibling. He gets along great with other dogs, especially his foster sister, who’s helping him build confidence. The two are always together and can often be found snuggled up on the couch.
Eugene would do best with another confident, laid-back dog with low to medium energy. He’s not much of a player, but he enjoys companionship. He's also a total homebody-if you're looking for a hiking partner, he's not your guy, but if you need a couch buddy, he's perfect!
This lovable, quirky guy doesn’t quite know his size—expect some clumsy antics and lots of laughs! He has no concept of personal space and is a champion kisser. He’s learning to enjoy snuggles more and more but also appreciates his alone time in his crate (which he’s made extra cozy by hoarding all his toys).
This old soul is crate-trained, housebroken, and sleeps soundly from 9 PM to 7 AM. He’s a quiet guy who rarely barks, knows “sit” and “paw,” and is just an all-around sweetheart.
Eugene is ready to bring love, laughter, and warmth into your home!
**Back Story** This gentle soul was rescued from a rural shelter in Mississippi where he faced a heartbreaking situation—an extended stay with his euthanasia date looming. Thankfully, a kind-hearted advocate stepped in, and we knew we had to help. He was found to have a unique deformity on his right front paw—likely due to an old injury or a congenital condition—but it doesn’t slow him down. He walks just fine and is eager to explore the world

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
