Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing Charlie, the most lovable pup you'll ever encounter! This charming boy is all about love and companionship. Charlie adores curling up next to you for cozy cuddle sessions and has well behaved puppy manners. He is currently honing his command skills and is always eager to learn. Charlie's easy-going personality with other dogs and being the "master of ignoring the squirrels, makes walks an enjoyable experience.
This playful pup is a fan of car rides, unless he's confined to a crate - he does best with a harness and pet seatbelt. Generally quiet, he has fun joining in on bark sessions with his foster brothers, and he would love a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart's content. If you're looking for a loyal friend who just wants to share love and laughter, Charlie is the perfect match!
Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.

Potential adopters are carefully screened to ensure we find the right forever home for the dogs and cats we rescue. Since animals live in foster homes, we get to know their personality and temperament. The adoption process allows us to learn about you, so that we can help find the perfect match for your home.
ADOPTION PROCESS
After finding a cat or dog that you are interested in, you'll need to complete an adoption application either online (https://henricohumane.org) or at an adoption stand. An adoption coordinator will review your application to ensure your situation matches the needs of the animal you're interested in. If completing an application online, please note, every question must be answered on the application for it to be reviewed by an adoption coordinator. As part of the review process, we'll request references. Because we are an all-volunteer organization, it may take up to 48 hours for an adoption coordinator to contact you.
ADOPTION FEES
$100 for a cat or kitten
$150 for an adult dog
$200 for a puppy (under 1 year of age)
The adoption fee covers the cost of shots, spay/neuter, microchipping and worm/flea treatments.

More about this rescue
Henrico Humane Society is an all-volunteer, foster-based,
non-profit organization that rescues dogs and cats from
across Central Virginia and places them in loving, forever
homes.
HHS has saved hundreds of animals each year since
1991. Many of the dogs and cats we rescue come from
shelters in rural areas where they have fewer adoption
opportunities. The majority of the animals in our care live
with foster parents until they find a permanent home.
We don't have a shelter and most of our animals live in foster homes until they're adopted, which allows us to get to know their personality and temperament. Applicants are carefully screened to ensure we find the right forever home for the dogs and cats we rescue. Our adoption process allows us to learn about potential adopters so we can help find the perfect matcher their home.
