Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven’t seen Frankie with cats or kids, but he can be tested!

Currently Living At: Texas shelter - Frankie needs a foster or adopter to make his way to the DC area

Special Adoption Considerations: Frankie  is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.

Frankie is not only handsome but also eager to please. While he loves his outdoor adventures, he’s equally happy curling up beside you for some quiet time after a day of fun.
