My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Bill Hahn (BillH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Simon says take me home with you!

SIMON NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Simon         Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix

Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of October 2024         SEX:    Male

Estimated Weight: 37 lbs as of 10/14/24; he is still growing.

Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at:    DC area foster home.

Simon is Looking For:    His forever home. This cutie is really just a big older puppy! He hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is eager to have his own humans for romps in parks and all the adventures they can dream up, and make lots of people and pup pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see which he likes best sounds great too, And he's excited to go to dog school so he can show how super smart he is! He already knows how to say 'Simon says give Simon treats' with just one happy tail wag.

Most of all, though, he wants to be a well-loved dog for all his days. In exchange he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship. What do you say? Does that sound like a good deal to you?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
