TIGGER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Tigger         Best Guess for Breed:   Shepherd and retriever mix

Best Guess for Age:    6 months as of October 2024          SEX:   Male

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   26 lbs as of 10/14/24

Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.

Currently Living at:    DC area foster home.

Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.

Tigger is Looking For:   Hiya! I'm Tigger. I assumed a new appearance and ran off from Hundred Acre Wood because, well, 94 years is a bit long in one place (Winnie appeared in 1926; Tigger, in 1928). And I'm just a big ol baby pup now and I want what all energetic young puppies want:

  • Play time!
  • Snuggles!
  • More play time!
  • World exploration!
  • Making new pup pals!
  • Dog school, so I can show how super smart I am!

All that would be really cool but what I want most of all is to know where I belong, who my people are, and to be safe and loved for all my days. I promise to give you lots of adoring gazes, make you smile, and be your loyal companion. What do you say? Are you my fresh start?

What My Foster Says About Me: Tigger is a fun and playful boy who is getting along well with my other dogs! He loves to eat and go for walks to explore outside. He has playful energy and is very smart--he has already learned 'sit' and 'stay'!

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!

TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
