IDGSR Welcomes SHASTA into the safety of the rescue!!
THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT
**************
Happy Holidays! My name is Shasta and I'm a 5-6yr old female German Shepherd. I am located near Greeneville TN and will be available for transport.
Quick Facts:
Age - 5-6yr old
Home - ideally a home with a fenced in yard, no apartment or condo
Kids - Would do well with kids (12+)
Dogs - Good with large males, no females or small dogs
Cats - NO cats
Training - Needs standard obedience training
I want to share my back story with you so you get a better understanding of my personality.
I was rescued from a hoarding case. I lived my life on a short chain, with no shelter, no adequate food or water. I was strictly used for breeding, had numerous litters of puppies, and wasn't treated with any love or care. When I was being rescued, my former owner hit me on the head with a cast iron skillet!! I have a bump on my head now but the vet tells me it will get better in time.
1. Despite my awful upbringing, I am a nice girl. I've never gotten to experience love, kindness, or even basic needs. The rescue has been wonderful for me to heal and now I'm ready to a forever loving home.
2. I would love to have a fenced in yard to explore in and a comfy bed to rest on. I don't require much because I've never had anything nice, if you can give me a good life, I will be forever grateful.
3. I would do best as either an only dog or with a confident male dog. I must be the only female dog in the home. It's also best that I avoid homes with small dogs and cats.
4. Now that I'm feeling much better, I love to jog in the backyard, check out what's going on, and have the occasional play time with one of the male foster dogs.
5. I've never spent a holiday with a loving person or family, I heard it's one of the most special times of the year. I hope you have a place in your heart & on your couch for a middle aged gal like me!

More about this rescue
Imminent Danger German Shepherd Rescue started in 2011 rescuing German Shepherds and High Content Mixes from the Imminent Danger where they were sitting on Death Row in High Kill Animal Control Facilities in TN, NC, SC,KY, VA, GA & AL.Over 1000 Dogs lives have been spared and we've never worked so hard in our lives to save these wonderful kids. Our process from saving these kids includes 30 years of experience in working breed dogs. We conduct Safer Tests with all dogs to determine the abilities of the dogs so that we can match the right dog to the right family. We do not shove our dogs out the door. We do multiple videos of the dogs as well to our potential adopters. We disclose all positive and negative behavior traits so our adopters can work on any training the dog may need. IDGSR starts the rehabilitation and training with these wonderful kids and our adopters are part of the team of folks who help to ensure these kids will never suffer another day of hardship in their lives again. IDGSR will not take Aggressive Dogs into the Rescue.
If you have ever loved a German Shepherd then you will know where our hearts are to save these dogs from a certain death. It is our goal to save more but we need wonderful qualified families who want to save a life and welcome a new family member. We continue the work with our adopters even after adoption, we help with training and advice and counsel. IDGSR's staff look forward to hearing from you. Help us to find your new devoted and loyal best friend.
