My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This pet needs emergency placement. Please click here to go to our emergency placement page for more information.

Luna Mae is on the at-risk list for behavioral concerns. Luna Mae came to us an owner surrender and was noted to have some concerning behaviors. Luna Mae is reported to be highly reactive to small animals and dogs on leash. She escaped their yard and bit a neighboring dog. Unknown the severity of the bite but it was reported the bite did not cause serious injury. She was known to escape her crate often as well and give clear signs of resource guarding high value items. In care, Luna Mae has allowed all handling and is very social with staff. She has shown increased anxiety while in care including rushing back to her kennel and destruction tendencies in kennel. Luna Mae would benefit for a low-stress environment where she can receive more positive-reinforcement training. Medically, Luna Mae is healthy.

Meet Luna Mae, a charming 3-year-old, 36-pound petite girl with a sweet personality and a few quirks. While Luna Mae has shown some behavior concerns in her previous home, she has proven to be very tolerant and affectionate with our staff. She enjoys leaning in for pets and loves treats and toys, though she prefers to keep them to herself unless traded.

Luna Mae is leash-reactive and thrives best as the only pet in an experienced, adult-only home where her new family understands her needs and can help her feel safe. With her love for treats and toys, Luna Mae's heart is easy to win over. If you're ready to invest time and patience into a unique and loving companion, Luna Mae could be your perfect match.
