#MadLoveHazel located in Michigan
Dear MAD pack,
My name is Hazel, I am a lovely, 5 year old Dutch shepherd female who would like to talk to you about me.
I grew up in South Texas and my family left me at the shelter in Spring of 2024. I didn't really understand why, because I am a very easy going girl. I get along with dogs, I love people, I have a sweet attitude and I am very loyal.
I learned a lot at the shelter, as spring turned to summer, I settled into thinking this may be my new home. I had a roommate who shared a small kennel with me, her and I got along very well, I got some tests done for my health and they took some pictures with a big machine.
My new friends at the shelter found that I had heartworms, but those are fixable! They also saw that my bones had old damage on them, my silly little butt wiggle is actually from an old healed pelvic wound.
When my friends saw these things they shared with MAD that I was deserving of a fresh start. After some time and lots of talks, I scored myself a ticket a freedom flight on a plane to Michigan. As summer turned to fall, I started this new chapter.
I became a MAD dog, not because I am upset, but because I am special and deserving.
I have been getting medicine to heal my heart, I am learning about toys, and food and treats. I enjoy walkies. I enjoy my foster family and with more and more training I am becoming a great lady who is a wonderful family dog.
I spent far too many months of 2024 being a rescue dog, my new years resolution is to be a forever dog! Now as winter arrives, I find myself wanting a family more and more
I am a good girl, I am lower drive, I enjoy building a bond with people. I am smart, I am learning to be a dog and I enjoy toys! I will work for food and treats!
I am a great addition to your family and with structure, I thrive I have many years left to get on with this thing called life! I am a great first time Dutch shepherd for anyone who is interested in this breed.
I have so much love to give and so many hopes for the new year! Please consider welcoming me home
With Love,
Hazel
