Blackhawk fans RISE! We have the perfect addition to bring on home, perfect in time for the holidays! Blackhawk here is just the sweetest boy that always has a smile on his face. He is a big time cuddler, he might be the best on the rink! Blackhawk is incredibly polite, he sits and waits patiently for you to acknowledge him and give him a treat! He's made a lot of friends here at the shelter, too. He loves to play with his four-legged pals here, and absolutely lovesss to interact with our staff. He's a certified winner in all of our hearts, what do you think about bringing a winner on home to you?

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
