My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joy is a delightful bundle of love and energy, though she may come off as a bit shy when you first meet her. After a couple sniffs her affectionate and playful personality quickly takes over. Joy is incredibly cuddly, always eager to snuggle up close, but she's also full of lively energy, ready for fun and adventure with her favorite people. Whether it's running around in the yard or curling up for some quiet time, Joy's enthusiasm and warmth make her the perfect companion. Her loyalty and vibrant spirit ensure that once she bonds with you, she'll be your energetic, loving shadow forever.

Anytime during open hours, no appointment needed. We also house adoptable cats at the Horseheads and Ithaca PetSmarts as well as Sondra's City Zoo in Elmira. Every other month, we alternate off-site adoption events between IRFCU in Sayre, PA and the Williamsport PetSmart.

More about this shelter

Our lifesaving mission envisions a community that promotes turning compassion into action for dogs and cats by adopting healthy animals into loving homes, promoting the human-animal bond through outreach, education and advocacy, spaying and neutering to end the suffering of overpopulation and to improve public health and the humane and compassionate treatment of all animals.
