My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey world, meet Lillie! Lillie is a two year old, 21 pound Dachshund/Australian Shepherd mix.

The first thing you might notice about Lillie is her FABULOUS frame! She's got the body and nose of a Standard Dachshund, with the ears, tail, and fur of an Aussie. Plus, she has the CUTEST overbite and loves to stick her tongue out! This long lady gets tons of attention on the sidewalk for being so cute, which will make you the most popular dog owner in town!

Lillie is a high energy pup-- her favorite thing? Playtime! She loves to play with you, with toys, and with other dogs. Her favorite game is tug of war, she's great at fetch, and she also likes to wrestle! Lillie is friendly with other dogs, and if her new home has a doggy sibling, she'd love a pup who can match her energetic and upbeat style of play. However, she'd also do well as a solo pup as long as you promise to play with her!

Lillie is completely crate trained, and has no problem hanging out in her crate while her foster mom works or runs errands. She is also housetrained and walks well on a leash. As an excitable young pup, she's still mastering some manners and commands, but is very food motivated and eager to please.

Overall, Lillie is a FANTASTIC pup looking for a family willing to include her on their adventures and make her the center of their world. Could she be the one for you?

Lillie is currently being fostered in Manhattan, NY. Her adoption fee is $500.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
