My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 09/27/2019) If you want a gentle giant and you think wrinkles only make you cuter, then Ralphie is your boy. This goofy, sweet lovebug wants nothing more than to be around his people. He loves other dogs and is happiest when he can be around other dogs.. He is still a little shy around strangers and needs a chance to get to know them. Since he absolutely loves "taking you for car rides," he is the perfect social butterfly to take shopping, restaurants, parks, etc.

He likes to snuggle into his dog beds and surround himself with his toys. He is also crate trained and will go in to sleep but will also be as happy to find a comfy place next to you. Ralphie has a fenced yard at his foster home, but he does NOT need one at his furever home, because he is perfectly happy hanging out inside with his peeps.

He is also a very calm pup but will speak his mind when he wants something, and those somethings typically entail tasty morsels or more love and attention. Ralphie has the cutest facial expressions to go along with his sweet, silly, loveable personality. He can pull out those big 'ole puppy-dog eyes like nobody's business

He is very food and treat motivated and knows how to sit. He is crate and house-trained and is learning leash manners. Ralphie hasn't meet kitties, yet and who knows with his sweet disposition and a dog savvy cat, he may be fine. It would be something we would need to check on. He is good with children but needs to be with older kids that understand time and patience.

If you would like a sweet pup this is your boy!

As part of Ralphie’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Ralphie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
