This guy was recently adopted, less than a week ago and the owner apparently had issues using a leash. He would dart out the front door. Also when walked, he would take the leash off thinking the dog had recall being newly adopted. He has now dumped the dog as the last person to find him was told he didn't want the dog back. Walks good on leash. Not reactive when walked into cat room. Likes to chase balls Adoption Fee: $100 for Dogs, $75 for Cats: This includes S/N, 1 yr rabies, 1 yr city license for dogs and a micro-chip. If already S/N, fees are: $50 for dogs, $30 for cats

California City Shelter is rescue friendly, animals are free to 501c3 organizations but must have 5013c paperwork on file with the shelter. This shelter does not provide funds for any type of vetting.

$100/dogs, $75/cats, this covers the spay/neuter at our local Cal City Pet Clinic, $10 voucher towards a rabies shot, $20 for the California City annual license (not required for cats) $20 adoption fee and the rest for S/N
If you are adopting and not a California City resident, the cost would be reduced by the $20 annual Cal City license fee.

The California City Animal Shelter does not get much exposure and because it is in a rural area, walk-ins are rare. For the past few years, a very small handful of volunteers have teamed up with the shelter/animal control personnel to help keep the facility clean, get animals seen via various social media sites and transport.
