Salem (GA) is a female Australian Cattle Dog mix estimated to be 8-10 weeks old at the time of intake in October 2024. Salem is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate)and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining his forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDRNYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Salem is good with people of all ages and other dogs. Salem is a sweetheart who has lived with other dogs. She was found abandoned on the streets, and when a good samaritan called Animal Control to rescue Salem, the only help Animal Care could provide was to shoot Salem on sight because there was no room at the shelters. That did not happen, and Salem is now safe with us. Salem is a bewitching pup who is people friendly, energetic and she loves attention. She came in full of fleas, ticks and worms, but we'll take care of that! livelySalem is a lively and self-assured gal. She plays well with other dogs and enjoys a good game of tug; she shows interest in balls and can entertain herself playing with toys. Salem has a good off-switch, and she enjoys working for food (enrichment - puzzles, slow-feeders ). She's smart, observant and food motivated. She is a solid cattle dog - preoccupied with feet , affectionately gives teeth hugs. Salem is a Cattle Dog through and through, so Australian Cattle Dog experience and a family who will keep Salem busy and stimulated would be a plus! If Salem's path to a happy life leads to your front door, please apply online to adopt Salem (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.
